Austrian Civil Society Network
The Austrian Civil Society Network (Österreichisches Netzwerk Zivilgesellschaft, ÖNZ) is an alliance of dozens of very diverse civil society organizations, all of which share a common goal: the desire to work together to strengthen democracy.

For us, one thing is clear: the federal government must ensure that the principles of a liberal, vibrant, and participatory democracy are upheld and further developed. This is just as essential for the peaceful coexistence of all people in Austria as it is for civil society organizations and their goals. An authoritarian, anti-minority, and nationalist government would pose a major threat to the people of our country, to critical citizens, and to committed initiatives. That is why the Austrian Civil Society Network advocates for a liberal, vibrant, and participatory democracy.
This is based on free media, an independent judiciary, and social and environmental justice. But it also requires a strong, free civil society that makes a decisive contribution to public discourse through its opportunities for participation.
